Glen grew up in Kermit, TX and through the years kept in touch with his friends and classmates from Kermit. He always attended Class of '64 reunions and Alumni Reunions though the years. Glen and Margie were adventurous travelers who took their RV throughout the United States visiting National Parks and states. It was said that Glen never met a stranger and was known by everyone for his friendly demeanor and great smile. Unfortunately, Margie passed away a few months before Glen. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

July 28, 1946 - March 9, 2023
Don Terry Wilson was born July 28, 1946, in Monahans, Texas to Leroy and Eunice Wilson of Kermit, Texas, a child of the Gulf Oilfields.
There was no doubt that Terry was a sports fan. He played baseball in high school and was on the swim team as well as the football team. Terry’s dream of “wearing the pinstripes of the New York Yankees” was not a match for God’s call on his heart and he refused a baseball scholarship to follow God’s call to Southwestern Assemblies of God College in Waxahachie, Texas.
He never stopped following the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers and of course, the Yankees. In later years, as a Papa he truly tried to follow Soccer to honor his son-in-law and grandson but never quite understood or enjoyed the game on the pitch as much as the gridiron. His favorite phone calls were trivia questions - What was John Wayne’s real name? Where was the Bowie knife made? He loved being stumped and learning new things and was also delighted in sharing useless but always interesting trivia on guns, movies, and numerous other subjects.
Terry loved to read - he read all the Louis L’Amour books and the accomplishment was made even more special when he was able to visit the room where L’Amour wrote many of his books in Durango, Colorado. Few people know that one of Terry’s favorite books was Victor Hugo’s masterpiece, “Les Miserables”. The story of redemption and forgiveness would make him weep whenever he talked about Jean Val Jean. And yes, he knew the identity of 24601!
Terry also loved photography, a passion which he passed to his daughter and both grandchildren, along with a love for new adventures and trying new things. When you were driving, you were never lost, only taking a tour. If a trip was filled with obstacles and challenges, it was not “bad”, you were merely “making memories”. Never did his daughter or grandchildren leave a car that he didn’t tell them he loved them then tell them, “do good.”
Though his childhood home was not always one of peace, he had a mother who nightly prayed “God save my boys.” Without fail she lifted the names of her sons to Jesus. Her prayers were answered, and both of her sons entered Heaven on their passing. Terry’s parents also made sure their son went to church “every time the doors were open” and the Assemblies of God in Kermit, Texas was where the Rev Charles Ogden led him to Christ. Terry told the story of not wanting to go to church one night and his don’t telling him, “son you don’t have to go to church. You get to go.” Never a service as missed.
As a teenager, Terry lay on his bed for nights on end, wrestling with God’s calling on his heart to Bible college and full-time ministry. His dream of college and professional ball was close. He said he was miserable and sick at his stomach for weeks until he obeyed God. Telling Pastor Ogden of his decision, Pastor let him preach his first sermon - “5 minutes in which I said everything I knew about God,” he would often recall.
At Bible college, Terry met and married Linda Roork. Terry loved going to his In-laws home in Chouteau, Oklahoma. Kenneth and Nadine Roork embraced Terry as their son and at the holiday’s Nadine always made sure Terry had a roast for dinner not a holiday turkey. Kenneth would remark at his amazement how much food Terry and his best friend, James Phifer, could consume. Kenneth and Nadine loved him and taught him by example how to love his own future son-in-law.
As an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, Terry pastored churches in Oklahoma and Texas. He was a firm believer in Missions, both at home and foreign fields, and loved to talk about the Bible with everyone.
Terry has left his family a love of photography, sports and a spirit of adventure, however, that is not nearly as important as the Gift of Faith and the message of Hope his family has embraced. The greatest legacy D Terry Wilson leaves can never be quantified outside of heaven, but it can be glimpsed in the passion his children and grandchildren have for seeing other people come to a relationship with Jesus Christ. Only God can count the number of lives and generations of believers that will trace their salvation back to Terry’s obedience to share the Gospel.
On the morning of March 9, 2023, in great peace, Terry saw the fulfillment of God’s promises as he walked into Heaven and ran into the arms of his Heavenly Father. Daddy, Papa, Terry - our friend - will be greatly missed, but we celebrate his peace and home going today.
Terry is survived by his daughter, Kimberly K. Beach and husband, David J. of Hobart, Indiana; grandchildren: David Christopher Beach and wife Ruth of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Ashley Ruth Beach and fiancé William C. Drake of Tulsa, Oklahoma; great grandchildren: Theodore David and soon expected sibling in Indiana and nieces and nephews in Oklahoma, Texas, Alaska. and California. Terry was preceded in death by parents: James Leroy Wilson and Eunice Clara Graves Rainey Wilson; siblings: sister, Marie Rainey Terry and brother, Thomas Bryan Rainey and brother-in-Christ. James Dallas Phifer. Also meeting him in Heaven, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to First Assembly of God, Bixby, Oklahoma.

James "Jimmy" Robert Siler
Sadly, the KHS Class of "64 Has Lost Another Classmate. "With great sadness and blessed heart, Jim Siler has gone to be with the Lord!! Jim, class of '64, passed away Sunday morning, January 23, 2022. There will be a small family service at a later date. Please keep this God loving family in your prayers!!" |
Jamie Siler Sullivan, Jim's Daughter, said .....
"My dad passed away peacefully Sunday morning, January 23, 2022. It has been a rough few years since his brain cancer diagnosis in April 2015. He lived a long and meaningful life and was loved by so many. We are forever grateful for the many amazing nurses and employees of Magnolia Hospice and Cedar Pointe Health and Wellness Center. They took such good care of him and stayed in close contact with my mom.
We’ll have a small graveside service in 2-3 weeks following cremation and I will share more details when they’re available. Thank you so much for the outpouring of love and support from friends and family."
James “Jimmy” Siler, age 77, was born on April 9, 1944, in Kermit, Texas. He passed away on January 23, 2022, at Cedar Pointe Health and Wellness Center in Cedar Park, Texas. His home was in Leander, Texas.
Jimmy had numerous occupations, some which included oil field pipefitting, automotive repair, maintenance engineering, long distance truck driving, and last but most loved, a school bus driver. He spoke of that time spent with school children, getting them safely to school and back home, as the most rewarding job.
Hiking in various places through Texas, Jimmy enjoyed taking pictures and seeing the wildlife. At home, he loved his woodworking. He built a beautiful cradle for his grandchild. Along with that, he also made various other items, such as two wall-mounted wooden collection boxes for his church, Central Leander. He took a lot of pride in making these things for the ones he loved.
James was preceded in death by his sisters, Evaloa Crouse and Nancy Mitchell, as well as his Aunt Evelyn Alexander and her husband William Alexander. They were the family that raised him as their own child along with his sisters. Surviving him are his wife of 51 years, Jean Ann Siler; his daughter and her husband, Jamie and Michael Sullivan of Leander, Texas; his granddaughter, Hally Sullivan of Leander, Texas; his sister, Susan Templeton of Granbury, Texas; and his brother, Benjamin Palmerton of Winchester, Kentucky.
The family would like Magnolia Hospice and the staff at Cedar Pointe to know how much they are appreciated for the care they gave James. Tomeka was the RN with Magnolia that for two years from his home, and then on to Cedar Pointe, gave him excellent, loving care. There are numerous other caregivers over this last six plus years that oversaw his medical and spiritual needs; it took a village for us to go this far. Gordon Cox, the pastor at Central Leander, was a family friend from the past and currently his pastor. He made frequent visits to James, and those visits meant a lot to him.
Graveside services were held Friday, March 11 at 2 p.m. at Bagdad Cemetery in Leander, Texas. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.wcfishleander.com for the Siler family in the care of Weed Corley Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services

Clifton Alvin McDougal, Jr.
July 12, 1946 - September 27, 2020
Clifton Alvin McDougal Jr., known as Alvin to his friends and classmates, was born in Lubbock, TX, on July 12, 1946, to Clifton Alvin McDougal Sr. and Roberta Marguerite Jones-McDougal. He made his way home to Glory on Sunday, September 27, 2020, at the age of 74.
If you knew Alvin well, you would know that he was a servant to those he loved. While he was born with that servant’s heart, we should give the full credit for its “refined” nature to his parents, who surrendered their lives, and the lives of their young children, to the ministry in the 1940’s. Alvin's formative years were spent growing up across Central & West Texas, until the family landed in Kermit, TX in 1958, planting roots and spending the next decade in service and ministry.
Alvin graduated from Kermit High School in 1964, having become a “sprinting legend” for the Kermit Yellow Jackets. (***It is worth noting that he was inducted into the Kermit High School “Athletic Hall of Fame” in 1993…and was re-celebrated again in 2013, for his contribution to the glorious 1964 record setting season***) His athletic abilities landed him a track and field scholarship to Lubbock Christian University, and later Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX. It was during these years in the mid-late 1960’s that Alvin met, fell in love with, and married Sydney Ann Helms, whom he was married to for over twenty years. Together, they had two children…Jeffery Todd McDougal, born on November 17, 1968, and Thomas Coby McDougal, born on November 29, 1976.
Alvin's career, much like his life, was spent in service to others. First, serving 20 years in the US Navy, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer, from NAS Dallas on March 31, 1990. Alvin's passions in life were as follows: #1-The Lord and His Church, #2-His Family, #3 -His Dogs,Shooter 1, 2, and 3, and #4 - His BBQ…his brisket and smoked sausage were EPIC! His laugh, his love, his generosity, and the mark he left on so many lives will be remembered above all else!
Alvin is being Greeted in Heaven by his Parents, Clifton and Roberta McDougal; his Siblings, Robert McDougal and Carol Ann Medcalf; his Granddaughter, Elle Blair McDougal. He is Survived by his Children, Jeffery Todd McDougal and Thomas Coby McDougal; his Grandchildren, Camden Renee McDougal and Emma Shelby McDougal; his Siblings, Gary Allen McDougal and JW Medcalf; his First-Generation Niece & Nephews, Jeb and Louis Medcalf and Trachell and Brandy McDougal; Second Generation Niece & Nephews, Logan Waggoner, Reese Waggoner, Wyatt McDougal, Luke and Nathan Medcalf; his Dog, Shooter III. In lieu of flowers, please send donations/contributions to: Grace Baptist Churches Coffman, PO BOX 775 Midlothian, TX 75065.
